This list describes equipment for use by Interplanetary Marine Sciences Sampler Class units, on top of the normal systems provided to Stock Protogen units.
A unit may switch between Vision Modes.
Passive Thermal Vision Mode
LiDAR Point Cloud Vision Mode
(Generates a dynamic point cloud. Data is also used to update the Dynamic Path Map when using this Vision Mode)
EMERGENCIES ONLY: High Exposure Vision Mode
WARNING: May cause HEADACHES and/or DISORIENTATION due to delayed vision, artifacting, or blurry images.
(In this Vision Mode, visual latency is doubled. Increased exposure allows improved visibility, for use when other environmental illumination systems are not available.)
Tri-Angle Pulse-Headlight
(Primary environmental illumination)
Dual-Mode Comm Unit (Hydrophone + Hydroacoustic Speaker pair)
(Mounted on both side panels)
(In Passive mode, the Hydroacoustic Speaker is disabled.)
(In Active mode, the Hydroacoustic Speaker is enabled, allowing for cross-unit communication)
The data provided by the following equipment is presented on the unit's HUD as either numerical, or a graphical representation of numerical data. The exact method of visualization is noted for each.
Depth Sensor
(data presentation: numerical, metres)
Pressure Sensor
(data presentation: numerical (the sensed value), pascals; numerical, percent of unit's maximum rated pressure)
Salinity Sensor
(data presentation: numerical, per mille)
Flow Sensor
(data presentation: numerical, metres per second)
Temperature Sensor
(data presentation: numerical, kelvin)
Port- and starboard-side proximity sensors
(data presentation: graphical, sensed data is used by the Visor to generate and update the Dynamic Path Map on the unit's HUD)
Vented Dive Hood
(Maintains inner ear pressure and provides thermal regulation during submersion and variable pressure conditions.)
